Day 5 – Upton Scudamore to Mere

In Mere the route ends in the square with the Angel tea rooms, the George, the Ship and Yapp Brothers’ wine merchants all close at hand.
As ever with any walking, comfortable footwear is essential together with clothing appropriate to the often changeable weather conditions. Much of the Walk is very exposed to wind, rain or sun. The route passes through some towns and villages but in essence you will need to carry what food and drink you need with you; but don’t try to carry too much.
