RECOVERY WITHOUT REHAB!
THE STEP ASIDE LEADS THE WAY TO A HEALTHY & HAPPY NEW DECADE.
By admitting to yourself that you are losing control of your alcohol/drug intake does not mean that you are bad, or weak or that you are stupid. It means that you have reached a crossroads in your life where you need to transform yourself.
“If you have tried and failed to completely quit or control the problem many times before, have felt ‘crushed’ & a ‘failure’ each at time, it doesn’t mean that you can’t do it, or that you are a ‘lost cause’ a ‘no hoper’; it means that you need to try something different. Massive action is called for! Maybe you are ready to try something radical, new & innovative. We can help, as we have helped many people before, to find a way out of the chaos & madness surrounding addiction. Some people need residential treatment or attend a structured day programme. Most don’t. There are many advantages to addressing your addiction problems within your normal everyday environment. We work within the real world, here and now, with all the stresses and strains and ups and downs of everyday life, because this is ultimately where you’ll have to survive clean and sober.
Our recovery without Rehab programme does not involve group work, navel gazing and delving into your past. It is YOUR recovery and YOU take responsibility.
Our role is to work along side you, not to take over. We can teach you techniques & coping strategies, with our experience and support we guide you step by step through your recovery, but ultimately only you have the power to get you better. Even if you can afford the very considerable expense of a residential rehab, are you really able to drop everything and take 6-8 weeks off work? Apart from the time, there’s the stigma, do you want people knowing that you are in treatment for a “mental health” condition? This can be last thing you need when you are trying get your life back on track.
Staying clean and sober for a few weeks within the confines of a treatment center is one thing, but living the real world clean and sober is something else. Whilst it’s helpful to stay away from triggers when ever possible, many triggers can’t be avoided. Some of the most powerful triggers are everyday things. Triggers are often negative mood states - boredom, loneliness, frustration and anxiety. You might be able to avoid many obvious triggers, but you can’t avoid the weekend and you can’t say you will never be bored or frustrated again, recovery is ultimately about managing yourself differently in these situations and the best way to learn this is while it’s happening for real.
We are NOT of a medical background and would never assume such a stance, so if you do have a physical dependency we'll work alongside your GP who can provide medical support to help you through the detox whilst we provide the psychological support.
In many ways treating the physical addiction is the easy bit, staying clean or sober is the real challenge. Taking your drink or drugs away is one thing, but living without them is quite another and unless the psychological side of your addiction is addressed, your chances of recovery are very remote.Psychological addiction is the major factor in relapse and is the driving force behind problem drinking, cocaine addiction and cannabis addiction.
Ask yourself - "Why do you take mind altering substances or engage in mind altering behaviors"? Well, probably - it’s because you want to alter your state of mind. Whether you are shutting down hurt or dealing with insecurities and a lack of confidence with booze or you are chasing a buzz with cocaine, you are trying to change what is going on inside of you.
“A man who has control over others is strong, but a man who has control over himself has real power.”

Recovery is not about surrendering your power it is about reclaiming it.
We ask you to commit to the programme 100% and really give it your all. At the initial meeting we will formulate a ‘structure’ with you & trust that you will adhere to it & be honest at all times. It is a hard work & occasionally you may feel that the whole world is trying to pull you back into the chaos, therefore we provide support either by text, e-mail, skype or chatting to your specific support worker.
